DID YOU WITNESS COLLISION?

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an 87 year old woman was seriously injured after being in collision with a van.

The incident occurred at around 10.40am today (Friday), in the vicinity of the pelican crossing near Café Rouge in Holywell Hill, St Albans.

The white box van, driven by a 24 year old man from Essex, had been travelling West down Holywell Hill, when for reasons unknown, it was in collision with the pedestrian.

The lady, who lives in St Albans, has sustained severe injuries which are considered life threatening.

Inspector Paul Campbell said: “Did you witness this incident? If you can help, please call 0845 33 00 222.”
